The Five Best Foods For Healthy Skin
Mother Earth has gifted us with everything we need, including the best skin care. You’re better off spending your hard earned money on healing produce than on the latest celebrity endorsed facial cleanser.
Nothing will make you glow from the inside out more than plants.
If you’re trying to heal any skin condition (not just acne), try incorporating these foods into your daily meals. Although all plants will be extremely beneficial for your overall health, these foods in particular are miracle workers for the skin.
In this post, I will discuss the benefits of these foods along with tips for incorporating them into your daily meals. Plus, I will highlight the emotional and spiritual support they offer.
Did you know these bounties from our Mother support our emotional and spiritual bodies as well?! After reading this, you will never eat the same again.

The 5 Best Foods For Healthy Skin
1) Papaya
If you have ANY skin issues bring this baby into your life every...single...day! Papaya is the number one food when it comes to skin care. It has anti-wrinkle fountain-of-youth powers due to its high content of vitamins, minerals and caratenoids. Not only will it get your skin glowing, it can clear acne, eczema and psoriasis.
Emotional and Spiritual Support
Papaya can quickly lift you out of feelings of crankiness, grouchiness or impatience. This power fruit breaths light into anyone who consumes it, purging old judgement and stored-up frustration.
The papaya tree is often skinny and frail, yet it holds a large crop of one of the heaviest fruits. This will and determination to overcome physics and balance is transmitted to us when we eat papaya. Papaya trees and their fruit want us to understand that there are no limitations to healing, growth and becoming.
Papaya Tips
Don’t buy the smaller Hawaiian varieties, as these are usually GMO. Look for Mexican and Central American variety known as Maradol.
You will know when the fruit is ripe when it’s a yellow-greenish color and soft to the touch.
My favorite way to enjoy papaya is a papaya boat. Cut it in half, remove the seeds, stuff the center with more fruit like wild blueberries or bananas, and drizzle a little raw honey on top. Grab a spoon and scoop away!
2) Mango
Mangoes are rich in beta-caratone which helps to strengthen and support the skin. Consider mangoes (papayas and sweet potatoes) a natural self-tanner. Eating these foods will give you that natural sun-kiss glow!
Emotional and Spiritual Support
Mangoes have the power of manifestation. When we eat them, the fruit reorients us, changing our direction and opening us up to more opportunities to experience joy, which ultimately helps us connect with our destiny.
Mango Tips
For noticeable results, eat at least two mangoes a day.
Mangoes are not only wonderful for the skin, they’re excellent sleep aids. If you want deeper sleep with spiritually enhanced dreams, eat some mango before bed. It’s the best way to prime yourself for a revelation come morning.
They also make excellent exercise companions. Before a workout, eat a mango for a longer lasting workout and better recovery.

3) Banana
A staple. THE staple. Bananas are one of the greatest foods for combatting strep (the root cause of acne). They are the ultimate fungus destroyers, removing unproductive bacteria while feeding beneficial microorganisms in the intestinal tract.
Emotional and Spiritual Support
Bananas strengthen the core of who we are, encouraging us to “peel back” our false shields and expose our true selves. Not technically a tree, banana plants form wide and deep roots, being able to overcome any storm. Banana plants remind us that we too need to form wide and deep roots so that we may reach for the sky, blossom and bear fruit regardless of our environmental factors.
Banana Tips
To get the most nutrients from a banana, eat it when its skin is yellow with brown freckles.
They make the perfect travel snack!
They also make the perfect addition to any smoothie. Always add a banana to your smoothie for that smooth consistency.
They are also the best post-workout food, replenishing our bodies better than any other food out there. There’s a reason why your crave a banana after a long run ; ). Your body knows what she/he needs!
4) Leafy Greens
Not only are leafy greens great for the skin, they are the foundation of our overall health. Leafy greens are anti-viral, anti-bacterial, AND anti-mold. And they’re excellent for starving strep. Leafy greens also create alkalinity in the body’s systems, especially the lymphatic.
This is important to note because it’s the lymphatic system that can be the most difficult system to eliminate strep, due to all of the chemicals, pesticides, heavy metals, pathogens and PLASTICS (yup, it’s in there) constantly entering our lymphatic passage. Leafy greens help to expel, purge and drain the lymphatic system of these toxins. Also, I can’t forget to mention they’re loaded with all of the protein you need!
Emotional and Spiritual Support
Just as they flush out all those toxins on the physical level, leafy greens also loosen stored-up toxic emotions. Loading up on leafy greens can help you to feel clear and clean again. The short-shelf life of leafy greens teach us to seize the moment, to practice presence so that we may recognize what’s already in front of us.
Leafy Green Tips
Try to incorporate leafy greens into one meal a day.
Mix it up! Don’t get spinach every week. Make sure you’re trying different leafy greens each week to maximize benefits.
My favorite way to enjoy leafy greens is in my afternoon green smoothie. Simply add coconut water, banana, two handfuls of leafy greens of your choice, a date (if you like it extra sweet like me!) into a blender. Blend and enjoy all of the nutrients!
5) Wild Blueberries
Last, but oh my word, sooooo far from least! Wild blueberries are the most powerful fruits our Mother has to offer. They have adapted to every fluctuation of climate over time. Wild blueberry plants can actually be burned to the ground and they will come back stronger than ever. No other food on the planet has the ability to thrive in such trying conditions.
They have the highest proportion of antioxidants of any food on the planet. When you consume wild blueberries, their innate intelligence—I need to repeat that—their INNATE INTELLIGENCE reads your body, searches out potential disease, monitors your stress and toxicity levels, and figures out the best way to combat pathogens to heal you.
Say WHAT?!?
Yes. It is the only food that does that. These little wild warriors are strategically combating strep and other pathogens.
Emotional and Spiritual Support
Native Americans noticed early on that when wildfires occurred, the only thing left standing were wild blueberry bushes. As a matter of fact, they would come back stronger than ever. When we eat wild blueberries we receive the Divine’s support to rise of the ashes, to come back stronger and healthier than ever! When you eat this super-fruit their indestructible essence becomes a part of you. Also, wild blueberries are your secret weapon for attracting abundance. We'll stop here because it's just too much to process!
Wild Blueberry Tips
Find wild blueberries in the frozen aisle of your local grocery store. Because of their ability to not only survive, but THRIVE in trying conditions (fire and ice), freezing wild blueberries actually increases their nutrition.
If you live in the U.S. Try to get wild blueberries from Maine. And for a really special spiritual experience, visit a wild blueberry farm and pick these babies yourself. I see a future pilgrimage in the making ; )!
The difference between wild blueberries and cultivated ones is the difference between wild salmon and farm raised salmon.
My favorite way to enjoy wile blueberries is in the Heavy Metal Detox Smoothie.
There you have it. The five best foods for healthy skin! If you can incorporate these foods into your daily meals, you will notice a difference not only in your overall state of being, but in your skin's health.
And just a reminder to be patient as you heal. You are healing from the inside out. It takes time. These foods are here to help us, but it's on their time table, and Mother Nature is never in a hurry. She takes Her sweet, precious time. Tune into that slower, more relaxed pace of life.
Just be patient. Take it one meal at a time. And know that you are unconditionally loved, supported and guided.
